Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year! What a crazy year we had this year, so many things happened. I hope that this year was kind to you and your families and fate smiled upon you. I fared well this year; I am in good health and have been very fortunate this year. I invested in a few stocks this year and things got really exciting when for the ever the Dow Jones closed above 1000 in November. Needless to say I had very happy holidays.

January started the year off in an exciting way with that Pierre Hotel robbery; I cannot believe those guys made off with $4 billion! Could you even imagine what you would do with all that money? Also, I don’t know if any of you heard about that Japanese soldier that found in Guam. His name is Shoichi Yokoi and he had spent 28 years in the jungle. I also bought one of those new hand-had scientific calculators, it cost me $395. It’s pretty awesome! I also got a chance to play that new game at the arcade, that Atari just released, called Pong. It’s so simple but so addicting!!!!

I can’t believe Nixon had such a crazy win this year with the Electoral College. After Watergate and our involvement with the war in Viet Nam war, he is very loosing popularity quickly. Maybe we should have stopped the bombing of Hanoi and Haiphong earlier on. I know that a lot of people feel like we shouldn’t be over there in the first place. Now, everyone is being really critical of the United States government and the president because the Christmas Bombings and how they have chosen to handle the situation over there.

On a somewhat of a lighter note, we were able to watch both the XI Winter Olympics games and the XX Summer Olympiad this year which was really great to see everyone coming together for these global evens. It’s too bad that some chose to tarnish the spirit of the games by nearly twenty people died at the hands of an angry extremist group. That was sad and wildly inappropriate, the games were supposed to be about coming together for friendly competition and now people have die because of someone else’s anger.

So, let’s raise a glass to a year past and to hoping the next year is full of more good than bad. I wish all of you luck and happiness in the year to come. You will be in my thoughts, always.

Sincerely,

Your Friend Brittany Jones
